We have had several reports from people selling on this site informing us
that they have been contacted via email by suspicious parties (scammers) posing as potential
buyers. These scammers are usually from outside of the UK and offer to pay by cheque or transfer
for an amount well in excess of the asking price but instruct you to then
forward on the additional amount to another third party bank account. Please
be aware that such activities are highly suspicious and likely to
be scams to attempt to get you to forward a significant amount of money from
your account to someone elses account before their cheque or transfer made
to you has had chance to clear. This will invariably bounce after you have
forwarded funds from your account. We advise you to decline any such
offer no matter how attractive this may seem. Always insist on payments by
cheque to be made in full to 'yourself only' and to the exact amount agreed.
Typically these people operate from overseas, are not interested in viewing
the goods and have no knowledge/understanding of the Karmann Cabrio.
