   Gearbox - Problem getting into 2nd gear

   First time on the forum so here goes. My car is a 1964 Cabriolet with standard 1200 engine and gearbox. When shifting into 2nd gear from both 1st and 3rd there is a "graunching" sound and I cannot engage the gear easily.

    Wheel Wobble

    From a sad member who bought his first and only beetle cabrio at the age of 52 LHD 1979 and mistakenly "ran to the sun". Thought the wobble on the front wheels was a winter in the garage, I have changed the wheels around, balanced and tracked, bought new tyres and still she bounces me up and down from speeds over 25 mph?! Undriveable and unhappy!!!!

    Correct wheel and tyres sizes

    Hi, I'm restoring a 69 Cabrio (USA) it came with 14 inch wheels. I need to find some 15in wheels and tyres to suit. I need to have 5 matching wheels. Alloy wheels would be nice but 15x5.5 are too wide to fit in the spare wheel compartment. I need the actual steel wheels, I think, and maybe fit vintage cross plys? can anyone suggest what to do here?

    heater

    is there anyone out there that has a (i think) a petrol heater behind there dash or knows anything about them. I have a fan switch on the dash and when turned on blows air out a quite a rate but is only cold (sure it is not A/C)

    Window seals

    Hi All, currently replacing the seal between the rear qtr window and door window frame(the seal that slides into the vertical groove on the vertical leading edge of the frame). Please can anyone let me know the orientation of the seal, does the curved lip face in or out, or, does the front frame sit against the curved lip or straight edge? Thanks Neil

    Intermittent Wiper Control 1303 LS

    Intermittent Wiper Control 1303 LS. My cabbie has a standard windscreen control lever with Off - Slow - Fast. However it also has a down position which I think is for Intermittent, but it doesn't work

    Speedo Odometer / Fuel guage faults.

    My odometer doesn't work - Split cog in speedo. The 1303 speedo has a swagged on bezel ring whichis almost impossible to get off without causing major cosmetic damage, so access to the speedo must be from the rear.

    Another hood fitter request. and rear window removal?

    Can anyone recommend a hood/roof fitter in or around south wales, come to think of it i will travel but harrogate is a lenghty journey to get to dubtricks. also i'm in need of info regarding the "correct" procedure for removing and re-fiiting of the window frames front and rear any help much appreciated

    finding vehicle details.

    I have a 1302 cabrio shell and floorpan with chassis numbers etc.It came from the U.S.A. many years ago but not registered.As i do not have any paperwork or number plates how might i find out if duty has been paid and the how do i register it with no paperwork.I have sent to V.W for a birth certificate.Any help would be helpful.
