Meetings Regional Club Events

Club members are most welcome to organise regional club events in their respective areas. These will be advertised on this website & in the club magazine.

South West Regional Meeting
Yeovilton, Somerset.

The Cabrio Club held a regional meeting on 13th April at the Fleet Air Arm museum at R.N.A.S. Yeovilton in Somerset. Some of us met at Podimore on the Saturday night and enjoyed the hospitality of the "Podimore Inn". Others travelled to the museum on Sunday. We all met at the Podimore roundabout at 10am on Sunday and set off in a mini-convoy of eight Cabrios. The drive lasted about 15 minutes, as you can see from the photos we parked in our own section. We were joined by club members Dave & Janice Low in their Audi A3. We posed for photos in the car park.

Linda Farthing had arranged a very good reduction for us (she works at RNAS Yeovilton) for entry into the museum. We all spent an enjoyable time viewing the large number of aircraft and exhibitions.

There is an excellent Carrier flight deck experience and the opportunity to go on board the experimental research Concorde. I even managed to spot a picture of a pre-war Beetle in one of the displays!

Participants included Bert & Linda Farthing, Martin & Blanche Adams, Chris & Barbara Timms, Keith Lanham Jo and children, Nick & Larissa Fry and children, Paul Dickinson and son-in-law, Graham Lee and his wife, Austin & Michelle Lane. After visiting the exhibition halls we congregated in the restaurant for "lunch". Some of us had a chat with Keith Seume who was also there.
 
Although we managed some hoods down time the weather wasn’t great but as the museum was all undercover in didn’t matter. A really good day out, for some a first of the season with the Cabrio
