FOR SALE: Original RHD Karmann Convertible Beetle. 1977 – “S” registration. Dark metallic blue with black hood; black hood bag and original sand interior; 42000 miles. The car is taxed and MOT’d until July 2009. I bought the car in 1987 and am only the second owner. It was completely restored in 1990 (with a photographic record) using genuine VW parts. It has a VEGE reconditioned engine. I used to show the car at VW rallies and it won a number of concours prizes following restoration. The car has been garaged throughout my ownership. There is a full service history; records of expenditure; tax discs; the correct original VW owners’ manuals; CD player; alarm and some spare parts which will all be included. Overall the car is in excellent condition and is great to drive (especially in the summer!). I am selling it reluctantly as I no longer have the time to look after it and it needs to be owned by someone who can.

First registered 1978 and with agreed insurance valuation of £12000
The car will be taxed and MOT’d prior to delivery to the new owner. 
I am the third owner of the car, original owner passed the car on to his son and then I purchased it. Imported from California just over two years ago and with a current genuine mileage of 10700. All relevant documentation and taxes were paid on the car on import to the UK. No rust or blemishes always garaged  and as solid as they come Left hand drive, I had planned to use her in the South of France. Original door cards and front seats are also included in the sale along with LH headlights. Steering wheel was changed to a Fram wheel and an easy shift gear lever was also installed. Interior was changed to a Nascar style velour immediately after purchase by the first owner.
The car will be sold to the first person offering over £10,000 provided they have viewed the car first.

We are broken-hearted to report that our 1978 Karmann Cabriolet Beetle LS 1303, LHD, black body and black hood. Registration no: TBY 740 W. Chassis no: 156 210 8765 was stolen from outside our house in Central London W1 on 13th September. Our grandparents bought him in Germany in 1981, and he has been part of our family ever since. We love him dearly and want him back. STOLEN I am absolutely gutted to report that our beautiful car has been stolen. He is not in pristine condition, a work in progress, really. He is a 1978 Karmann Cabriolet, we think German import. The registration number is DGH 27 S Left hand drive, no radio [just a space]. Chassis number 158 2 050 601 His hood is quite damaged on  the driver's side [I think someone may have resented the previous owner! It had a couple of tears which had been gaffered up, while we saved up the money to have the roof redone] He has dirty cream seats! There is a daft black 1980s executive car phone sticker on the glove box front.
